Abstract
to acquaint students with the peculiarities of the origin, formation and development of German literature; to report on its social, ideological, moral and aesthetic importance both in the culture of Germany and within the limits of world literature and culture; give a general overview of the works of German writers, focusing on the most important works and literary phenomena, as well as characterizing the historical-literary processes that took place in Germany from the pre-Christian age to the present.
