Abstract
We can observe the patriotism in respect of interests, rights, the identity of people of different nations, tolerance and patience, in readiness and ability to compromise with different ethnic and religion communities for peace in the country and in a whole world. In our work we characterize the phenomenon of patriotism according following criteria: cognitive, procedural-activity, value-meaningful and reflexive. In the research we empirically investigate the phenomenon of patriotism in the representations of Ukrainians. It is revealed that the concept of patriotism is closely linked with the concepts of law, with traditions, culture, history. Also we noticed the passive representation of patriotic values in students' representations.
