Abstract
Archeological prospection continues to be a valid method of expanding knowledge on the history of populating of certain territories. Despite more than hundred years of such investigations at Kyiv region, still there are lots of places where a considerable number of ancient settlements can be found in the comparatively short period of time. The works conducted in 2017 by the expedition of Scientific and Research Archeological Laboratory of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University on the territory of Obukhiv district with the discovery of more than 60 previously unknown settlements of different Ages, from Trypillia Culture to XVII-XIX centuries, can be regarded as an example of massive reconnaissance strategy.
