Abstract

The purpose of the work. The research is devoted to the analysis of musical ethos in the context of Ukrainian contemporary culture. The article deals with the specifics of the embodiment of the main social events in contemporary music, mostly popular, at the end of the twentieth century of the XXI century. The author in article an emphasis on song culture, as the most typical for Ukrainian mentality. The most significant performers and popular bands are considered in the context of the formation of the Ukrainian ethos of musical culture. The methodology of the study is to apply comparative, historical and logical methods. This methodological approach allows us to reveal and analyze certain views about Ukrainian popular music of the XX-XXI centuries. and its cultural code as an ethos of music. The scientific novelty is to highlight the specifics of the existence of ethos of music in the Ukrainian musical culture at the end of the twentieth century of the XXI century as the embodiment of the basic historical and social ideas. For the first time the activities of popular performers and music groups are considered as areas for the formation of the spiritual component of self-identification of Ukrainian mentality and, consequently, ethos of music. The creative specificity of performers in this context limits the spatial and temporal characteristics of a certain historical level of the late 20th and early 21st centuries into forms, which contributes to the discovery of the spirit of music. Conclusions. The article proves the correlation of the real world - the spiritual world (musical art) according to the existence of the ethos of music. The above review shows the existence of a substantial content of musical song culture of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries, which embodies the notion of ethos of music.
