Abstract
The article examines the Ukrainian book graphics of the first third of the twentieth century, which is an important factor in determining the image of Ukrainian book graphics at different stages. In the process of development of the Ukrainian graphics of the twentieth century in general and in specific artistic phenomena and works of art, there is a constant interaction of international and national, general and private, new and traditional. The re-evaluation of the aesthetic qualities of national art was particularly influenced by the development of new graphic art. In the first third of the twentieth century, graphic art does not follow the rigid paths indicated to it. The Ukrainian schedule of the marked period reflected various general European currents – modernism, symbolism, neo-primitivism, futurism, cubism, expressionism, constructivism, realism, surrealism, Art Deco. The originality of the artistic language arose due to the use of traditional motifs and avant-garde means of creating an image
