Abstract
The series of articles highlights the changes in the approach to teaching a foreign language according to the Concept of a new Ukrainian school. Particular attention is paid to the key competencies of the students, which must be formed during the lifelong learning. The author suggests a clear formulation of the lessons objectives as the teacher's intentions and the suggested outcomes of the students' educational and cognitive activity.
