Abstract
This article is the result of a scientific study on identifying areas for improving the quality of the formation of professional competencies of economists in the modern Ukrainian university in the conditions of European integration. According to modern Ukrainian legislation, the quality of education is formed by an external system, which is supported by the MONU and NATION and by the internal system, which each institution of higher education forms independently. The European integration trend of Ukraine's economy requires greater autonomy of universities to respond more quickly to the demands of specialists for the labor market. The external evaluation of the quality of education in the form of annual ratings of institutions of higher education affects the choice of applicants and, often, their parents in choosing an institution for study. Applicants for choosing a higher education institution for further study often use information received in social networks. When forming the internal system of quality of education of a higher education institution it is necessary to take care of the true information about the university in various sources of information. The matrix of the SWOT analysis of the system of formation of professional competencies of bachelors and masters in economics has revealed the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats of the modern quality system in Ukrainian higher education institutions. The subsystems of the external and internal levels of the quality assurance system are distinguished. The internal quality system of education consists of the following subsystems: monitoring compliance of teachers' professional training with the requirements of the MESU; monitoring the quality of teaching disciplines; monitoring of acquired competencies by students; monitoring of conformity of professional competencies, which are laid down to educational-professional and educational-scientific programs, to the realities of the labor market; strategic planning of the development of the University's quality education system. For subsystems of the internal level of the quality assurance system, appropriate modern tools have been selected that make it possible to carry out a qualitative dimension. Promising directions for improving the quality of education at Ukrainian universities are the practice-oriented student learning, communication with employers, and the coordination of the content of educational and professional programs with practitioners, and the implementation of scientific research by students during their studies at the university.
