Abstract
new concept of reviewing the events of the twentieth century through the prism of political and information processes was proposed with the aim of recreating a complete picture of the historical events that took place in Central and Eastern Europe. Exploring the events of the Second World War, which took place on the territory of Eastern Galicia in 1939-1942. We have taken into account the propaganda policy of the Soviet Union and the occupation administration of Nazi Germany. The role of periodicals in the established Soviet and Nazi regime in Eastern Galicia, the use of newspapers and magazines as an instrument of propaganda and influence on the consciousness of the inhabitants of Lviv are shown. A comparison was made of two periodicals that functioned in different periods of World War II as a publishing body of two totalitarian regimes that prevailed in 1939-1941. On the territory of the city of Lviv. It was revealed that the system of forming the material of newspapers and its presentation by the reader was not much different between the two regimes, since both occupation administrations used the necessary information and propaganda technologies and methods of influencing the population.
