Abstract
In the early 1920s, students formed the majority of Ukrainian interwar emigration, the former Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic formed the basis for them. An important feature of the Ukrainian student emigration movement of the interwar period was the high level of national consciousness and the desire to present their achievements and the very nation with its own history and rich culture. The main tasks faced by Ukrainian emigrant students: to ensure the protection of national identity, to seek the revival of the state, to inform representatives of other countries about the situation in Ukraine and the situation of Ukrainian students, but the main thing remained - education. The foundations and activities of cultural and educational organizations in internment camps became the mainstay of these processes. Former Military Army of the Ukrainian People's Republic received the opportunity to complete secondary education, thanks to special courses in the camps, and then to enter higher education institutions. Ukrainian student organizations were founded in the following camps: Vdovice, Kalisz, Lantsut, Aleksandrov-Kuyavsky and others. Among the military interned Army of the UPR in Poland in the early 1920s, as well as among civilian refugees, there were many young people. They were forced to interrupt their studies through the beginning of the First World War or national liberation struggles. Abroad, they continued to acquire education under less favorable circumstances. However, cultural and educational work carried out in internment camps helped to obtain education abroad.
