Abstract
The monograph deals with the origins of the modern scientific approach of the integrated education research – osvitologiya (educology); it is analyzed the role of education in the forming of the democratic society`s values; the appearance and development of osvitologiya in Ukraine; thesaurus of the modern education as the holistic social phenomenon; the basic definitions of osvitologiya. The issue was published as a result of the research findings of the research laboratory of osvitologiya (Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University). The monographs is addressed to the teachers, undergraduates, graduate and postgraduate students, researchers, to all, who are interested in the development of modern education.
