Abstract
The author of the article reveals the main theoretical approaches to the study of identity as an interdisciplinary problem of modern science. The emphasis is placed on the importance of defining the philosophical essay of the concept of identity that comes to manifestation of coexistence, self-existence, "self -image," "I-image" in all its relations with the outside world, the fact of making it possible, creation and formation an individual. It is emphasized on the importance of the psychological view of science on the problem of identity within the following approaches: psychoanalytic, status, value-volitional, behavioral, cognitive, existential-humanistic, structural-dynamic.
