Abstract
The purpose of the article is to highlight the artistic heritage of Ukrainian composers of the late XIX – early XX century and determine its artistic and educational potential for modern performers. The scientific novelty of the research is that the essence of artistic and educational potential of the vocal heritage of Ukrainian composers (late XIX - early XX century.) such as: D. Sichynskyi, L. Revutskyi, Y. Barnych, P. Senytsia was revealed for the first time. The methodology of the research is that during the study the general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, comparison, generalization), systematic and active approaches were complexly used. This made it possible to analyze the artistic heritage of Ukrainian composers of the past, to reveal stylistic and genre features of the vocal heritage of composers and to determine their contribution to the development of vocal arts in Ukraine. Conclusions. It was found that the vocal heritage of Ukrainian composers of the late XIX - early XX century contains a large artistic and educational potential, based on such characteristics, as: the reliance on a folk foundation; the depth and humanistic orientation of the artistic content; the unity of the poetic and musical expression; the reproduction of a colorful range of feelings, various emotional states of man and contrasting their comparison; the fine psychologization of musical images, their expressive figurative and emotional deployment; the diversity of genre and style palettes; the aesthetic perfection of the musical language.
