The theoretical analysis of psychological literature concerning bereavement is presented in the article. An emotional experience is described as a special inner work by means a person can get over difficult life events and conditions and recreate a lost balance of mind in short cope with difficult situation. It is emphasized that bereavement is individually specific. The peculiarities of parents’ bereavement after child’s loss, perinatal death, (parent/sibling’s) loss in childhood are described. Risk factors connected with a loss experience in childhood have been identified that increases a probability of psychological deviations such as a loss at the age younger 5, mother’s loss for girls younger 11, father’s loss for boys adolescents, conflict relations with deceased. In the article have been analyzed a phenomenon, stages, parts and peculiarities of grieving. It is shown loss events are considered among the most stressful ones for a person while at the same time such experience has a great constructive potential such the opportunity to reconsider one’s existence, find a new life sense, better understand his/her inner world. The attention is focused on life reconstruction stage of grief when a person renew lost social cohesion, return lost value of one’s life while plans for future are being rebuilded. The loss can be perceived by a person as a crisis /existential conflict when he/she faces ‘givens of existence’ as a death, a freedom, an isolation as well as absence of sense. While having such conflict experience the griever has to deeply reflect his/her existence, limitations, possibilities and therefore one can find, suffer his/her own response for the loss. It has been proposed an instrument of a Life Balance Wheel that can be used for reconsidering a griever’s life, seeking his/her resources. The authors have also given the recommendation to grievers.
