Abstract
Were investigated the legal sources that were the result of the legislative activity of the state bodies of the times of Kyiv Rus and the Lithuanian-Polish period and which determined the political and legal course in the water sector on the Ukrainian lands. Conclusions are drawn about the role of the analyzed political and legal course in the further formation of public administration in the field of water management of Ukraine.
