Abstract
The discipline "Mass Communication and Information: Modern Media Systems" aims to form an understanding of the theoretical foundations and historical aspects of the emergence and functioning of media systems in different countries of the world, understanding of their characteristics and factors that influence their changes, as well as developing appropriate practical skills. The subject of study of the discipline is theoretical foundations and practical aspects of the development of modern world media systems, their features, the role of informatization for their transformation. The purpose of the course "Mass Communication and Information: World Media Systems" is to create a system of knowledge for students about the history and current state of the media in democratic countries, to create and develop modern media systems, the role of the information society and the Internet in the globalization of the media. The main tasks of studying the discipline "Mass Communication and Information: World Media Systems": Ння mastering the features of media systems, political, social and economic factors that determine their development, Чення study the three main models of media development in democratic countries, study of the peculiarities of the Ukrainian media system, determining the role of the media in the information policy of the state, analysis of the interconnection of media and personality, Лення Identify the impact of the Internet on the transformation of media systems. The discipline is considered in the unique context of Ukraine's national priorities and national security
