Abstract
The purpose of the discipline is to give future library specialists knowledge, as well as to develop basic skills and competences on the essence of automation of library and bibliographic processes, opportunities for effective use of various technical means and technological solutions in the library for productive work of internal divisions of the library, as well as prompt and high-quality service of users organization of safe and comfortable work of library workers. Objectives of the discipline: - master the theoretical and methodological principles of automation of library and bibliographic processes; - to get acquainted with the requirements for education, experience of professional activity of library workers in the field of automation of library and bibliographic processes; - to study the features of modern automated library information systems; - to become acquainted with scientific approaches to library automation management; - to study the possibilities of using modern technical means for the purpose of automation of technological processes of formation of funds, cataloging, servicing of users in libraries and creation of various library-information and bibliographic products (on the example of IBS "UAB").
