Abstract
The article analyzes the characteristics typical for the kind of postmodern literature that creates the discourse of the so-called “women’s writing”. The play of American playwright of Ukrainian descent, Irena Koval-Saletska, “The Lion and the Lioness” (2001) belongs to some of the most illustrative examples of postmodern drama, the text of which provides the opportunity to analyze the characteristics of Women’s Writing. An example of such characteristics would be the fundamental metaphors included in the female creative model: the “female voice” metaphor and the metaphor of the concave mirror.
