The relevance of this study comprises the importance of vocalist independence in the process of the performing activity and the absence of the specific methods and technologies of independent vocal activity of the students of higher educational institutions of musical art. Literature Review. In this scientific work the author made a historical and retrospective analysis of scientific and methodological literature on the subject of research, referred to the statements of the ancient Greek philosophers, such as Arkhit, Aristoksen, Aristotle, Socrates, Plato, on the importance of independent activities for the intellectual development of personality. In the article the author quotes Soviet pedagogues: B.P. Yesipov, I. I. Pryanishnikov, K. D. Ushinsky, who define the independent work of future teachers of musical art as activities carried out by students on their own, due to their internal cognitive motives, in the most convenient, rational from their point of view time, controlled by them in the process and on the results of the activity on the basis of the system management carried out by the teacher. Purpose - analysis and generalization of psychological and pedagogical literature on the subject of research. Aim and Objectives - providing methodological suggestions on how to develop independent work skills for future teachers of musical art at the classes of voice placement; explanation of the effective methods of formation of the skills of independence the students can develop in the process of vocal-performing activities. Research methods. The methodology of the research consists in the integrated application of general scientific methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization), as well as the use of system and activity approaches to reveal the topic of the study. This made it possible to analyze the development of the topic of the study and find out its significance for vocal pedagogy of Ukraine. Results. In the scientific work psychological and physiological features of students of juvenile age are highlighted. The author pointed out the need of involving of the information and communication technologies to the formation of skills of independent work of future teachers of musical art, systematical and consistent homework done by the algorithm developed by the teacher. Among effective methods of formation of independent work skills is listening during the extracurricular time to the vocal compositions in different interpretations in audio or video format on a computer, tablet or smartphone, comparing them and then choosing own reference example as a performance model. The author also focuses on the fact that the vocalist student must learn to consciously control his own voice, as well as to listen and hear the advantages and disadvantages of performing of vocal music by other performers. This can be facilitated by listening and analysing of the vocal interpretation of one piece performed by various singers. In the article, the author emphasizes the importance of daily singing for the development of a student's voice, during which he/she must have a good understanding of the purpose of vocal exercises, their technology of performance and should perform them on his/her own, by heart, without the help of the teacher. Home exercises will help students develop memory, musical pitch and navigate freely in musical material. The research emphasizes the importance of performing exercises in all keys, throughout the student's range of voices, which is useful for the "development" of pure intonation and the equality of voice between the registers of the singing voice. Discussion.
