Abstract
The basic principles of the Orthodox idea of leadership development in Ukrainian religious and cultural tradition are determined in the issue. The interrelationship between spiritual and cultural activity of the Orthodox religious leadership and the dynamic of national, religious and political processes is proved. It is mentioned that missionary and promotional activities of the Orthodox religious leadership are ensured through its political, economic, cultural, educational and moral functions.
