Abstract
The article is about a way of attaching a great importance to religion by Chingiz Aitmatov for solving the key problems of life in his creative works, about writer’s evolution in reception and evaluation of different religious systems. In his early works the writer recreates the conflicts of lively human feelings, first of all love, with traditions and prejudice without any respect to religious gospel and traditions. But soon he began to actively use Turk (later on not only Turk) predominately Kyrgyz Mythology as a separate world, through the prism of which a contemporary life is evaluated and eternal values for a man are defines. At the beginning, mythology was treated as a rich cultural heritage, and only later on the religious aspects acquire more importance – Tengrism, for example, was perceived as holistic and organic study for the existence of Turk and Mongol people. At the end of 80’s, Chingiz Aitmatov was interested in humanistic content of Christianity, interrelation of truth and church, faith and power, affinity of dogmatic church with power and so on (Plaha (The Scaffold)). Simultaneously, very carefully, a writer touches the questions of humanistic twist of Islam, Islamic canonical texts as the perfect patterns of expression the human feelings and thoughts which were polished during centuries (And longer than a century lasts the day (Buranny Optional Hault)). An idiomatic form of synthesis of different religious and philosophical studies became a theory of monk-astronaut Phylophey in a novel Cassandra’s Brand. A writer didn’t see the complete advantage of any religion, but he tried to combine endless values each of them in unified study. In the afternoon of Chingiz Aitmatov’s life, for him the counter image of such study was Baha’i Faith as a union of cultural and humanistic achievements of different religions on a ground of Islam.
