Abstract
This article analyses gender-term psychology of Boris Grinchenko's story “The Sunbeam” (“Sonyachnyy Promin'”). The gender approach is used to supplement the traditional interpretation of the work by disclosing other levels of its meaning. It was established that in the story "The Sunbeam" B. Grinchenko clearly expressed the concern of Ukrainian education in his historical time, the relevance of the problem of enlightenment and created images, archetypes of the Hero-Fighter (male and female), embodied by Mark and Katerina, which crystallize with the course of numerous events in the work.
