Abstract
The article describes some theoretical principles, which determine the meaning of study professional image of the practical psychologist. The author pays attention to the growing problem of the formation of the professional psychologist’s image in social life and as well as in private life. Analyzed the scientific works, devoted problems of the image concluded the understanding the concept of the meaning of “professional image of a practical psychologist” – some image of a person as a specialist, as a professionalist, that buildings in mind of individuals under the influence of psychologist's professionals and personal qualities. Emphasized the social nature of image creation through the process of giving the psychologist`s own way to express herself and regulate this image with the help of the process of interaction, the reaction of society to the formed image.
