Abstract

The module "Sociology of Media" within the program of course "Sociology and Psychology of Media Management" is designed to form the theoretical basis of the journalist, so the purpose of his study is mastering the students major terminological apparatus, forming ideas about the fundamental provisions of sociology of mass communication as a specific form of activity. The main objective of the course is to give an idea of ​​the specifics of the sociology of mass communication as a science, to familiarize with the sociological methods of the study of the QMS. The objectives of the course are: ● formation of knowledge about current trends in the development of media sociology; ● Characterization of mass communication as a social institution that shapes the society's cultural values, its worldview and civic mythology; ● mastering the basics of sociological methodology for researching participants in the communication process, as well as media texts.
