Abstract
The purpose of the course is to acquaint students with the concept, system of basic concepts, the principles and types of fact-checking, develop skills of search, definition of methods of comprehension of information, analysis and evaluation of phenomena from different spheres of society. Modern students will gain basic knowledge of methodology, theory, technology, methodology and organization of fact-research, ie theoretical and practical basis for effective practical activity. The main tasks of studying the discipline of "Factchecking" are: - to define the concept of "fact-checking"; identify the differences between "investigative journalism" and "fact-checking"; - to find out the place of investigative journalism in the system of modern journalistic activities; - to analyze the subject of investigation in journalism, its types and features; - to study the basic methods of knowledge of reality, which the journalist uses in the process of fact-checking; - to consider and analyze the features of the organization and the main stages of fact-checking; - characterize fact-checking of different types: political, corruption, economic, environmental, social and historical; - to find out the correlation of notions of authenticity, evidence, persuasiveness; - analyze, classify and type key sources of information that a journalist uses in the fact-checking process. The discipline is aimed at the formation of the students of such general and professional (professional) program competences of the educational program of preparation of bachelors of specialty 061 Journalism: ZK01. Ability to apply knowledge in practical situations; CAR05. Information and communication technology skills; CK08. Ability to learn and master modern knowledge; CL11. Ability to communicate in the official language.
