The purpose of the discipline is to form students' modern ideas about mass communication in a globalized information society; acquisition of knowledge on forms and directions of international information cooperation of domestic and foreign information institutions and implementation of programs and projects with participation of foreign and international organizations by domestic institutions and organizations and professional associations of the library and information sphere. Objectives of the discipline: - mastering the special terminology of international cooperation in the library and information sphere; - knowledge of the stages of formation and understanding of the principles of functioning of international cooperation in the library and information sphere; - mastering knowledge about forms and directions of international cooperation in library and information sphere; - ability to analyze specific library and information programs and projects implemented by foreign and international organizations in Ukraine, with a view to their possible participation in them; - ability to search national and international information resources, navigate in terms of providing information and access to these resources.
