Abstract
The paper offers the general outline of translation services market in Ukraine, its basic features and traps for newcomers who just enter the field. As every year about 1,000 students in Ukraine graduate with a degree in Ukrainian / English translation, and the new job openings are limited, the competition between them is obviously very high. With this idea in mind, the focus is made on both professional and technical nuances one should keep in mind to increase the chances of finding a position to match his or her qualification.
