The purpose of this article is to define relevance of peace education and outline system of civic education by means of peace and peacekeeping in the current Ukrainian context. In the author`s view it is crucial to perceive amole opportunity of peace education implementation, particularly, peacekeeping component can be viewed as a key principle of newly established communities, that defines local level of civil society at the educational field. The relevance is enhanced by Crimea annexation, continuous war at the east of Ukraine, that lead to communities` structure changes, implying that crisis category of people (forced migrant) has occurred. Therefore, peace education should be understood as a process of knowledge, skills, views and values promotion, that are essential to develop a view of the world of youth and minimize destructive behavior patterns. Taking into account high level of education of Ukrainians, peace education is not aimed to teach how to read or write, but to evolve civic education in the first place. Nowadays civic education in the context of war on the East of Ukraine, is a key element due to the process of state establishment on the basis of humanization. Democracy, social justice, as a result of developing civil society in Ukraine and rejuvenation of the nation. We urge, that successful peace education implementation in Ukraine requires: update of national patriotic education conception, implying Information warfare with Russian aggressors menace, developing effective educational programs for adults, with a focus not exclusively on retraining of personnel, but also on a building SE-skills, increasing knowledge (including conflicts and peacekeeping), and creating public culture to achieve such knowledge, implementing better formal and informal education practices, that are aimed at peace education. Those practices should take into account cultural, historical, socio-economic and politic aspects of given country or region. Plus, education process should be governed properly, e.g. effective model of civic-official managing in educational field should be created, and civil activists, community leaders should be encouraged to achieve new up-to-date knowledge on peacekeeping, local communities should be motivated to communicate with other communities of region and country as a whole.
