The article is devoted to the method of formation of etiquette speech of younger students. In the current context, there is a need to adjust the modern educational process, taking into account the problem of the level of culture of communication of schoolchildren, so that its proper organization contributes to the successful and effective development of etiquette speech of younger students and the formation of speech culture as a whole. The urgency and formulation of the problem is determined by the insufficient elaboration of the method of speech etiquette formation in the study of Ukrainian language and the need to create a methodological support for the educational process aimed at acquiring pupils with knowledge of speech etiquette and the ability to use formulas of speech etiquette in the process of communication and expression of their thoughts. The description of the category "speech etiquette" is given; the urgency of its formation in elementary school age is highlighted. The levels of methodology (general scientific, specific scientific and methodological and technological) as well as their specificity are analyzed. As a theoretical and methodological basis of the study, a combination of multicultural, linguistic, and participative approaches was chosen. Leading ideas of methodical regulation of formation of speech etiquette of younger students and two subsystems of principles of formation of speech etiquette of younger students are highlighted. It is established that the main mechanism of the method of forming the skills of speech etiquette of younger students are functions (planning, motivation, organization, interpersonal communication, control and correction), which are a special kind of managerial actions of the teacher. It has been determined that interpersonal communication as a function of forming in the students of the lower classes of speech etiquette skills has effective tasks, content and result. The complex of pedagogical conditions of realization of the method of formation of skills of speech etiquette at students is described. Inclusion of the intercultural dialogue in the educational process, orientation of the younger schoolchild to tolerant communication and consideration of the specifics and diversity of types of discourse as pedagogical conditions for the implementation of the method of formation of speech etiquette skills in students are described.
