Abstract

The topical problem of gradual entry into the educational process of the modern school of transmedia technology was considered in the article. The existing approaches to understanding the concept of “transmedia” and related definitions of “cross-media”, “hybrid media”, “interactive media”, etc. are analyzed. Foreign and domestic scientific research is determined and systematized the basic technological principles according to which new media are created. Among them: numerical representation, modularity, automation, variability, transcoding. The concept of “transmedia” in foreign science is interpreted mainly as a transmedia storytelling, transmedia audience, transmedia seriality, transmedia Universe. In domestic research “transmedia” is often an approach or a set of approaches to creating a multiplatform narrative. It is noted that the transmedia story is one of the most common forms of implementation of transmedia technology. Examples of other forms are given: Transmedia Franchising, Transmedia Theater, Transmedia Music and Transmedia Marketing. The authors of the article proved that a combination of different cultural forms is a necessary condition for the creation of a convincing and influential transmedia product. The pedagogical potential of transmedia technology, which realizes the advantages of digital technologies and combines them with traditional teaching methods, and the need to develop transmedia literacy, as it will create conditions for the transfer of students from passive and alienated users to active consumers. There are available examples of the use of transmedia in education, including the creation of digital narratives, the publication of interactive books, the creation of educational tools (“live books”) with multimedia applications, virtual tours, etc.
