The section presents the results of the analysis of the current state of development of banking services in Ukraine in terms of optimization of the banking system. The dynamics of changes in the number of banks in Ukraine for the period 2014-2018 is analyzed and it is concluded that the number of operating banks decreased by 46.89%, including banks with foreign capital decreased by 10.53%. The dynamics of the number of operating structural subdivisions of banks of the city of Kyiv is analyzed and the conclusion on their reduction for the period of 2014-2018 is made. at 43.56%. The TOP-10 banks in terms of profits as of January 1, 2019 have been determined, the best: PrivatBank, Raiffeisen Bank Aval, Ukrsibbank. The structure of bank assets was analyzed and it was concluded that the structure of bank assets is dominated by SG loans, but since 2017 there has been a positive trend of growth in consumer loans. Analysis of data on attracted deposits in bank accounts allowed us to conclude that the economy of Ukraine as a whole and the city of Kyiv separately is characterized by a fairly high level of dollarization. Customers keep funds in foreign currency to avoid losses from devaluation. The number of borrowers by employment categories and income level was analyzed and it was concluded that among the population with incomes up to UAH 20,000 the most popular banking products are short-term and small: credit cards, small cash loans (up to UAH 10,000). It was found that modern banking innovations, which are becoming more accessible and familiar to all segments of the population of Ukraine, include financial inclusion - providing financial services to the population outside financial institutions through the use of information and communication technologies and non-banking agents to attract was not covered by financial institutions. It is substantiated that banks with foreign capital are the most stable in the banking system of Ukraine, their share in the loan market is the largest and is 44%, the share in the deposit market is significant - 35%. It is recommended to implement the Basel III recommendations in the banking system of Ukraine, which has broad prospects and requires constant attention from the banking sector.
