Abstract
The article substantiates the need to prepare future social workers for social work with servicemen and their families; The experience of implementing the content module «Social work with military personnel and their families» is presented to prepare the students of the first (bachelor) educational level. The purpose of social work with servicemen and their families is to provide comprehensive social services to this category of clients, taking into account their particularities of functioning, specific problems and needs. Therefore, future social workers should be prepared to perform social work with this group of social service recipients. Thus, in 2019, we developed and implemented a program of content module «Social work with military personnel and their families» in accordance with the educational program 231.00.01 «Social Work» of the Institute of Human Sciences Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University. The article describes a program to prepare future social workers for social work with military personnel and their families. The content, goals and objectives of the content module «Social work with military personnel and their families». The purpose of the content module «Social work with military personnel and their families» is to form a motivational, cognitive and operational component of student’s readiness to undertake social work with military personnel and their families. The key topics of the program include: social support for combatants and their families; social and legal guarantees for combatants and their families; features of social work with combatants and their families; social and psychological support for children of combatants. As a result of studying the content module «Social work with military personnel and their families», future social workers will acquire the ability to provide initial counseling to servicemen and their families and to assess problems and needs; to evaluate the state of social work implementation by state and non-governmental organizations in this area; to simulate the means, forms and methods of solving problems of this group of service recipients; develop social support programs / projects; to provide social services; to establish multidisciplinary and interagency cooperation to meet the needs of servicemen and their families; to predict the results of the implemented work.
