Abstract

The publication of the youth diary of H. P. Galagan (1819–1888), the heir to the Ukrainian noble family of Cossack-officer origin, one of the most prominent figures in the history of Ukraine of the 19th century in the sociopolitical and cultural fields, continuing the series of books “The Galagans’ Archive”, introduces the reader to the world of ideas and feelings of a young aristocrat, his actions and their motives in a sociocultural context.
