Purpose: mastering the comparative analysis of the origin, formation, stages of development and current state of special education abroad; mastering the analysis of the content of modern world pedagogical theories and concepts, which contributes to the formation of skills of using corrective pedagogical experience in modern practice of teaching, education and socialization of persons with mental and physical disabilities. Tasks:  to form general competencies: worldview, civic, communicative, interpersonal interaction, information and communication, creative, analytical, self-educational;  to form professional competencies: organizational, theoretical-methodological, psychological-pedagogical, methodical, special-pedagogical, design, consultative, competence in the field of comparative special pedagogy;  to ensure the acquisition of practical skills in the formation of professional competence in conducting comparative research in the field of special education, based on international experience and the specifics of the pedagogical tradition of Ukraine.
