Abstract
The article reconstructs the phenomenon of the living through the prism of religious and philosophical ideas of the representatives of Eastern patristics. It has been established that the most characteristic features of the early Christian religious and philosophical discourse in matters of the living were creationism and theocentricism as the principles of hierarchical ordering and subordinationism as the doctrine of the unequal components of the hierarchy depending on the degree of moral perfection. It is concluded that eastern patristics, laying the foundations of Christian theology, on the one hand, carried out a synthesis of ancient philosophy and Christianity, on the other hand, became a relay of their ideas in the further development of spiritual culture, the humanistic effect of which is still felt. The Fathers of the Eastern Church defended and affirmed the ideas of the value of the living as God's creation, a reverent attitude towards him, adoring any manifestation of life, endowing it with spiritual and moral dimensions
