Abstract
The central purpose of this article is to examine and analyze the process of development and formation of national adult education in the educational system of Irish Republic in order to find out the main present-day scientific trends in the system of adult education. In order to do so, a general overview of adult education establishment is presented. The article focuses on the short characteristics of the adult education organization activities and their contribution in the adult education development. The key features of modern ways of adult education development in the Republic of Ireland are also discussed and fully examined. The article deals with the community education as one of the main aspects of today’s adult education. Adult education modernization addresses major issues for adult curriculum content that is caused by various global economical and social changes and innovations in everyday life. The contemporary trends of adult education that can affect the system of adult education development in Ireland are mentioned. Finally, the article concludes with the formation of contemporary tendencies of adult education development in Ireland.
