Abstract
The integration processes that are taking place in the world and covering all spheres of public life have become a positive factor in influencing the level of foreign citizens’ interest in Ukrainian educational services. For that reason, our higher educational institutions must meet the European requirements and demands of applicants. The author notes that if the status and rating of the higher educational institution grew on the world market of educational services, it is necessary to have such training programs that were not only meaningful and effective, but also interesting for foreign students. It has been noted from experience that they can be interested in the author’s methods of conducting classes, non-standard exercises and tasks. Considering this in the proposed publication draws attention to the problem of creating a rational system of exercises and tasks for the Ukrainian language learning as a foreign language and the formation of appropriate communicative competence among students. The author’s goal was to create precisely such a practice-oriented set of tasks. Thus, the author presents groups of non-communicative, conditionally communicative and communicative tasks according to the types of speech activity (listening, speaking, reading, writing and communication). The substantive material content in the proposed tasks is informative and introduces foreign students to Ukrainian culture, traditions, life and customs. Some tasks are aimed not only at learning the language and forming the stated competence, but also at acquainting students with information about other countries. The author emphasizes that the proposed set of tasks is only a guideline for the development of their system, so far it does not take into account the level of students’ knowledge in Ukrainian (the proposed tasks are of different levels). The teaching experience and the researcher’s own observations of the educational process give her the opportunity to assert that such tasks are effective in teaching Ukrainian to foreign students, forming their communicative competence, introducing them to the Ukrainian and other cultures. In the future, the author plans to continue research in this direction and develop an acme-oriented system of exercises in Ukrainian as a foreign language for first-year students
