The relevance of the multimedia technologies usage in the process of senior preschoolers’ lexical competence formation is examined in the article. In order to do so, the authors investigate the concept of multi¬media technologies as the interaction of visual and audio effects under the control of interactive software using modern hardware and software that combine text, sound, graphics, photos, video in one digital representation, present the definition of multimedia learning tools. The authors highlight that the use of multimedia tools in the educational process of kindergarten becomes especially important in solving problems with improving vocabulary. Multimedia games are characterized as games in which the preschooler interacts with a virtual environment built by a computer. The components of multimedia technologies in kindergarten are described; tasks that should be solved by multimedia technology in kindergarten are discussed. Kindergarten informa¬tization plays an important role in achieving education quality and the modern child’s information culture formation. The multimedia options that help the teacher to create comfortable atmosphere in the classroom and achieve a high level of learning lexical material are characterised. The most important arrangements for the multimedia technologies usage for senior preschoolers are highlighted. Multimedia technologies provide a personality-oriented approach and allow to increase the amount of teaching material, make it possible for each child to choose the level of complexity according to individual characteristics. The pedagogical value of multimedia is determined not by a simple summation of the computer technology possibilities and technologies that are included in them. Individual components of multimedia mutually develop and complement each other, allow to combine methods of oral presentation with visual and practical elements, to enhance the preschoolers’ perception. Finally, the authors make the conclusion about the special aspects of senior preschoolers’ lexical competence formation with the help of multimedia technologies.
