Abstract
The article reveals the basic data on the life and work of the Ukrainian scientist from Montenegrin roots of Andronicus Stepovich. In general, the role of a scientist is shown in the development of Slavic studies in Ukraine, and in particular Serbian studies. The study is done on the analysis of archival materials stored in the Institute of Manuscripts VI Vernadsky Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. Thanks to the activity of A. Stepovych, Ukrainian science had an opportunity to get acquainted with the scientific achievements of the humanities of the Kingdom Serbs, Croats and Slovenes (Kingdom of Yugoslavia). His research A. Stepovic has repeatedly spent time in Serbia, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
