Abstract
The urgency of the problem raised for discussion is caused by the increased vulnerability of families raising children with special educational needs. Children with special educational needs are more dependent on parental attention and care. Given the individual characteristics of children, there are different degrees of severity of disorders, so parents of children with special educational needs need to make much more effort to raise a child and his full or partial socialization. One of the reasons is that raising children with special educational needs is a more stressful and responsible factor, sometimes parents of children with special educational needs are unable to cope with their emotions and solve the problem on their own, so in some situations, they abuse their children. The article aims to analyze the factors of domestic violence against children with special educational needs. Methods used: theoretical analysis of scientifi c and pedagogical and psychological literature. The results of the study identifi ed and analyzed the factors of domestic violence against children: social, cultural, family-related, personal, and psychological. Signs of domestic violence include: «violence is always intentional», «actions make effective self-defense impossible»; «violent actions cause harm»; «actions violate human rights and freedoms». The authors identifi ed that exhaustion and stress are considered to be the main causes of domestic violence against children with special educational needs. Feelings of shame and embarrassment associated with a child’s special educational needs continue to haunt many parents or guardians/families. As a result, many families do not want to seek proper professional support. Social and pedagogical work with children with special educational needs who have suffered from domestic violence should involve the use of a set of individual and group forms and methods (counseling, training, self-help groups, social therapy, etc.). The task is complicated by the fact that this is a very specifi c category of children who have special educational needs and need a special approach to work. That is why it is important to involve the resources of an interdisciplinary team to achieve a positive result, and the development of this problem can be a prospect for further research
