Abstract

The article is devoted to the problem of coverage of attempts to industrialize industries that worked in the art industry of Ukraine during the XXth century, which has been poorly studied in domestic science. Features of development of industrialization of embroidery production are noted. According to source materials, the historical and cultural conditions for the development of embroidery, home industry, artillery, handicraft industry, manufactory, factories, enterprises of “Ukrhudozhprom” are covered. The changes that took place in the country's economy in the 1930s led to a shift, as a result of the so-called industrialization, in the industrial manufacture of clothing, which in previous years began in workshops and artels, concentrating it mainly on enterprises of sewing. Measures have been taken to mechanize work in the manufacture of clothing in general and the use of embroidery. Thus, the work on the manufacture of embroidered products was concentrated mainly on the enterprises of the newly created industry “Ukrahudozhprom” ("Ukrainian Art Industry»), located in traditional centers of folk art. A significant contribution to the development of Ukrainian artistic embroidery of Kyiv region is the creative activity of N.Ya. Grechanivska, who for many years worked as the chief artist of T. G. Shevchenko Art and Production Association (Kyiv). Artists and creative masters of this enterprise not only preserved, but also creatively developed folk traditions. For this purpose, an art-experimental laboratory was created at the enterprise, in which new ornamental compositions were developed as an expression of new modern trends in the development of embroidery. The research is based on the use of archival materials and observations of cultural, historical and art analysis, coverage of problems related to the activities of traditional folk arts and the circumstances of development and tracking the historical evolution of “Ukrhudozhprom”. The urgency of this problem is due to the need to preserve the Ukrainian authenticity, research and elucidation of the peculiarities of creating modern products in the field of arts and crafts, such as embroidery, which is the most ancient variety of folk art.
