Abstract
The article analyzes the theoretical basis for the use of immersive teaching methods and the casemethod in the training of a modern philologist in the EIS. The insufficiency of methodology and theory of immersive technologies in the humanitarian field has been emphasized, and the need for informational and communicative approaches to the analysis of the research problem has been noted. This is a general description of the real (RR), virtual (VR), augmented (AR) and mixed (MR) reality in the context of their use in the training of philologists. The definition of immersion in the training of philologists is formulated as a method and technology of long-term immersion of students in foreignlanguage space on the basis of foreign-language or bilingual education, with the involvement of modern information and communication technologies, Providing for the use of video, audio and text information by students in order to develop appropriate professional competencies. The main characteristics of immersive methods of teaching future philologists, which make up their advantages over traditional ones – visibility, concentration, involvement, efficiency, have been substantiated. It has been concluded that educational materials allow communication processes as visually as possible; therefore, this is not only a spatial education, but also a visual product and a didactic concept, and an instrument for the formation of appropriate professional competences of future philologists. It has been argued that immersive teaching methods can be combined with other interactive methods, especially the case-study method. Language briefcases have been described as an important didactic tool for the development of the professional knowledge, skills and skills of student philologists. It has been noted that immersive teaching methods contribute to the maximum involvement of all students in the process of solving the given educational problem in the form of play, analysis and solution of the situation, construction of an appropriate level of communication, development and presentation of educational projects, etc. It has been concluded that many scholarly philologists have a positive influence on the development of their creative thinking and research skills
