Abstract
Introduction. The article is devoted to the study of the essence of one of the important issues of linguistic terminology - the concept of "language" in researches of linguists of the Prague linguistic circle. It is necessary in the processes of human lives and societies. Purpose. It is necessary to determine used concepts and patterns of their development in global thinking in different historical periods of human development in order to create an informative integrity. The concept "language" is internationalized and widespread in all societies. It is difficult to conduct researches, to form rules and regulations for the use of communicative tools without understanding this concept. Methods. The author did the detailed analysis of internal conceptual relationships, distinctive meanings and structure forming connections of the concept "language" by the explanatory formula of notion content (EFNC) using. Common elements and opposites, foundations and principles of existence inside and outside, basics and principles of existence, correlation and interdependency, the laws and patterns, language normalization laws for achieving of authentic coding information, the identification of the functional essence and existing contradictions inside that characterize the process of the concept development and existence were revealed in researches of linguists of the Prague linguistic circle. The structure of EFNC was used and supplemented. It corresponds to the basic general scientific knowledge approved by the practice of human existence, gives the possibility to normalize ideas about the concept, contributes to the general knowledge of concepts and clearly defined special concepts (terms) those have dynamism and proneness to development in different historical periods. Results. The definition of the concept "language" was synthesized according to the structural positions of EFNC according to the presented elements of content, essence, connections and relations within the concept. Originality. Analysis of internal conceptual relationships, distinctive meanings and structure forming connections of the concept "language" was done by the explanatory formula of notion content (EFNC) using; the definition of the concept "language" was synthesized. Conclusion. the concept of "language" is a special kind of human activity, mutual needs (man ↔ language), the heritage of mankind (spiritual and nation cultural codes), the attribute of national rights protection, mediator and component (in the process of communicative information), culture and civilization, concept of the theoretical level, structure and system of constants (oral and written language) and signs, means (imperfect) and tools (communication, mind detection, understanding the essence of things), an element of scientific researches (complex, multifold with correlations), which are in interconnection and constant movements, the purpose of which is the reflection and authentic transmission of information, the creation and preservation of "pictures of the world" (codes of images of information of each language). Functional essences are authentic formation, coding, storage and transmission of accumulated information regardless of time and space with cognitive, information-communicative, socio-creative, communicative and expressive functions.
