Abstract

The article considers the issues of protection and effective use of intellectual property of the enterprise. It is investigated that the definition of the concept of "innovation" in the regulations of Ukraine and other countries is close in meaning. Under Ukrainian law, intellectual property is protected by industrial property rights and copyright and related rights. The dynamics of the number of received security documents for industrial property rights in Ukraine for the period 2016-2020 was studied and it was concluded that the total number of submitted applications for industrial property rights decreased by 10¸71%, including a decrease in the number submitted applications: for inventions by 22.31%, for utility models by 44.72%, for industrial designs by 11.95%, for trademarks by 0.18%. The dynamics of the number of registered security documents for industrial property for the period 2016-2020 is analyzed, and a conclusion is made on the growth of this indicator by 8.15%. This increase was due to a significant increase in issued security documents for marks for goods and services by 44.22%. It is proved that the positive point is the growth of the share of registered applications for industrial property to the total number of submitted applications. The downside is that the share of registered security documents for industrial property is low. There is a negative trend in the dynamics of the number of submitted applications for the most important innovations, which is a decrease in the number of submitted applications for inventions and utility models for the period 2016-2020 by 38.0%. It is proved that the largest share among national applicants have legal entities working in the field of "Education", in 2020 their share was 32.47% of the total number of applicants. It is substantiated that the lack of moral and material incentives significantly reduces the level of innovation activity in enterprises and, accordingly, reduces the level of competitiveness of Ukrainian enterprises.
