Abstract
In the offered scientific research the attempt to characterize communicative competence as a basis of professional activity of future experts in the field of service is made. The author concludes that this competence provides the degree of social activity of the individual, the importance of the norms of its behavior, the use of appropriate means of communication. Therefore, modern vocational education should be aimed at the formation of this competence in future professionals in all fields, including services
