Abstract
The article highlights the activities of A. Krasovsky in the Ukrainian national-wide circles during late 50's - early 60-ies of the XIX century. The case of the lieutenant colonel of the imperial army accused and punished for his populist views and participation in contemporary peasant revolts in the Kyiv region on the side of the people is researched according to the published documentary sources.
