Abstract

The article presents the results of a free associative experiment, which describe the key verbal characteristics in the perception of a practical psychologist of an educational institution by his colleagues and clients. Qualitative and quantitative analysis of the materials of the conducted associative experiment using the method of associative gestalt. The obtained results of the study give grounds for asserting that both groups of respondents pointed out as the basis of the image of the psychologist the professionalism as well as the mental abilities of a psychologist, the desire for continuous professional self-improvement and the desire to help the client in solving his problem were highly valued.
