Abstract

The main classification of teaching methods for preschool children presents a list of the most effective tools and methods of forming spatial representations in preschool children (didactic games and exercises, children's experimentation, creating special problem situations, walks and excursions, observations, conversations, etc.). The article is devoted to the peculiarities of organizing and conducting didactic games and exercises with preschool children in order to form their spatial representations and direct orientation in space. Due to the fact that a person does not have a special spatial analyzer, the psychophysiological mechanism of perception of space is based on the interdependent activity of vision, hearing, kinesthesia and static-dynamic sensations (balance, acceleration). Accordingly, all educational work with children should be aimed at the development of feelings and perceptions. The authors proved the importance of this area of educational work with preschoolers on the basis of identifying the tasks of the Basic component of preschool education (2021). The article considers psychological and pedagogical research, which highlights the features and forms of organization of the educational process with preschool children (G. Belenka, I. Bekh, A. Bogush, N. Gavrish, K. Krutiy, T. Pirozhenko, O. Reipolska and etc.). Using the elaboration of psychological and pedagogical research, the article characterizes and highlights the common and different in the concepts of “didactic games” and “didactic exercises”. The authors of the article present the structural parts and features of the organization of didactic games and exercises, namely: didactic (…no) task, game task, game rules, instructions, game actions, executive actions, result. Given the sequence of educational work with preschool children on the formation of their spatial representations, proposed on the basis of psychological research (B. Ananiev, M. Vovchyk-Blakytna, O. Luria, T. Museibova, etc.) presents a sequence of complicating didactic games and exercises. The authors of the article also give examples of didactic games and exercises for the formation of children's spatial representations.
