Abstract
The study of the means of expression of the emotional component of speech of various genres over a long historical period deepens our knowledge of the current state of the lexical system of language. Such a scientific approach is timely not only in view of the frequency of use of emotives, in particular phrasal verbs, in authentic examples of literary speech, but also in "live" communication. Linguistic corpora can help to clarify the frequency characteristics of individual phrasal verbs, the realization of their valences, as well as linguistic and extralinguistic features, which makes our exploration relevant and theoretically significant.
