Abstract
The article deals with a study of the hierarchy of the modern teacher competencies through understanding of competence approach as paradigmatic-defining in the system of modern education in Ukraine. Professional and pedagogical competence of the modern teacher is presented as a unity of key competencies: psychological and pedagogical, special-subjective (complex of subjective competences), methodological, methodical, self-educational.
