Abstract

In this article, the author explores the essence of training a pop singer in the context of studying the discipline “Piano”. The methodological significance of related disciplines in relation to the main trajectory of students’ development, namely instrumental performance for vocalist training, is emphasized. Special emphasis is placed on the general cultural component in pop vocalists training, on the social significance of the figure of the vocalist in the context of cultural formation. In order to understand a song and really be on the same wavelength with the recipient, it is not enough for a pop singer to sing well, he must immerse himself deeply in the lyrics, music content, not only his life experience but the life experience of his potential recipient, formed under the influence of all components of the historical formation. This competence is considered as a personal category, which is dominated by the applied nature: it covers the process and result of mastering and using the personality of a vocalist-pop culture in the industry (professional culture) in particular and life in general by means of language. Among the main personality traits is erudition in the subject of culture in general and the professional culture of pop vocalists. The article defines that cultural competence has the character of an integrated, dynamic quality that requires some training, which can be based on a conglomeration of combinations of theoretical and practical disciplines of the normative cycle of training. The connection with artistic communication is indicated, where through a generalized musical-artistic form there is a kind of activity that uses certain universal canons for the human community and exists in the form of stage production and promotes certain value concepts of culture. Considerable attention is also paid to perception as a manifestation of artistic and aesthetic activity, which highlights such psychological qualities and nature of the process as motivation, observation, attention, memory, including visual, imagination, emotionality, empathy, including the level of general development of the recipient and the repeater as a whole. The conclusions outline cultural competence, which should combine the standard of general and professional competence that meets the standard, but also, directly and indirectly, emphasize the complex individual psychological characteristics of the individual, in which the emotional reaction is combined with analytical and synthetic activities of consciousness by the development of the individual strategy of students.
